There is only one show on television that makes you want to sing out loud every week and no, it certainly was NOT this past season's American Idol.
Of course I'm talking about Glee. (FYI - "gleek" defined: An enthusiast or expert on the tv show Glee).
Let's think about some other things that DO make people want to sing (unlike Lee DeWyze). Well, there's karaoke. And what are the very top most requested songs at karaoke? That's right...anything by JOURNEY.
From "Don't Stop Believing" to "Faithfully", Glee brings Journey to their big regionals competition, for Tuesday's season 2 finale.
But will they beat out their arch-nemesis Vocal Adrenaline for the big title? Will Rachel and Finn ever work things out? What will Sue try to pull this week to bring the Glee club down?
Anyway, Glee's impact on the music industry has been particularly unmistakable. Glee: The Music Volume 3 - Showstoppers has lead the Billboard charts for weeks, even beating out albums by teeny-bopper heartthrob Justin Beiber and Stone Temple Pilots.
From the Madonna show featuring Sue Sylvester's rendition of "Vogue", to the Lady Gaga episode, Glee has made it very clear that it will stay in step with the heavy hitters of today's music.
Glee's current national live-show tour proves that the cast are all truly quite talented. Sometimes it's tough to know for sure when watching the so clearly lip-synched singing on tv. It's good to know they all have real pipes to back it up.
Fun Fact #1: Chris Colfer (Kurt) came to Glee with no previous professional acting experience. Yet in his audition he reminded the director of Kurt from The Sound of Music, and thus the lovable Glee character was both cast and created on the spot.
Sue Sylvester (played by the comedic genius Jane Lynch) unquestionably steals the show, every time. The only other character to honestly make me laugh out loud is Brittany (played by Heather Morris).
Fun Fact #2: Before Glee, Heather (a professional dancer) went on tour with Beyonce and danced in "Single Ladies".
She was then brought on to the show to teach the cast the song's choreography, then gradually evolved her character Brittany into a regular for the 2nd season.
Now she's hilarious with her deadpan delivery of ridiculous one-liners. Heather's never taken an acting class in her life, and the director won't let her. She's doing it just right.

"You know, for me trophies are like herpes. You can try to get rid of them but they just keep coming. Sue Sylvester has hourly flair-ups of burning itchy highly contagious talent." - Sue Sylvester
"Did you know dolphins are just gay sharks?" - Brittany
